And just one mistake, is all it will take.
Stephanie walked around the cargo hold of the Alcyone and was taking an inventory of the supplies the ship had, it was part of her job as quartermaster, she had to keep track of supplies and handle resupply when supplies ran low.

Stephanie spent most of her time in the cargo hold, she liked it in here, there were not many people in it. Stephanie was a shy person and really did not feel all that comfortable when around large groups of people, too much noise and chaos. Stephanie liked order, she liked things neat and organized. Even though she did spend most of the time int he cargo hold, Stephanie liked to keep it a secret and only her closes friends knew that.

As Stephanie kept inventory of the supplies she frowned as she noticed how low the supply of Rum had become.

That is really, really bad. Stephanie thought to herself as she walked once more around the cargo hold hoping that she actually just miscounted or misplaced the Rum supply. At the same time Stephanie knew that taking another count of the supply inventory was likely pointless, Stephanie rarely if ever got her calculations wrong and never misplaced supplies.

Stephanie had over the years learned that the one thing you do not mess with when around sailors was their rum, and running out of rum was almost certain to guarantee mutiny, a mutiny which Stephanie had good reason to fear. She was quartermaster and if they ran out of rum she would likely be the one they blamed the shortage for and that did not bode well for Stephanie.

After Stephanie finished she second count of the ships supply inventory, it confirmed her fears. The ship was indeed running low on rum and that meant they would have to go to a port and resupply soon or bad things would happen. Stephanie knew that if they ran out of rum she would have very little time to resupply the ship but since she worked with privateers and not pirates she had a bit more time than if she worked with pirates.

Stephanie knew that she likely would have been killed on  he first night of running out of rum if she worked with pirates, but since it was privateers they had a bit more discipline and that meant she had a bit more time to deal with the rum shortage.

Well I am going to have to deal with this soon. Stephanie thought as she made a mental note to tell the captain, her friend, Amerlia Hawkins they needed to dock at a port and resupply as soon as possible.

Amelia had been searching for a certain someone all morning. The crew were sailing to Port Royal, for some much needed rest and to sell some of the wares that they'd picked up on their travels and had no need for. Amelia was in search of Stephanie, to go over some charting issues, ration issues, and other boring-but-necessary matters to make sure that everything was running smoothly.

She'd searched high, she'd searched middle, now it was time to search low. With a final look over her crew to make sure that she wouldn't be needed, Amelia jumped down through the cargo hatch and strode towards the cargo hold. It was a good bet that she'd find her best friend down in the hold, for the woman seemed to like that place most out of the main places on the ship. Amelia wasn't sure why exactly, but maybe it had to do with the fact that it was by far the quietest place on the ship. It was a good place to take a break from the world.

Slipping into the hold quietly, the blonde grinned when she saw Stephanie. Silently she crept up behind the woman, wrapping her arms around her waist and resting her chin on Stephanie's shoulder, grinning ear to ear. "I've been looking all over for you. You're not avoiding me, are you?" she teased, giving her friend a backwards hug before letting go and stepping into her line of sight.
